Overview

Lupita is a macOS performance monitoring application that respects your privacy. This privacy policy applies to both the Mac App Store edition and the Pro edition purchased directly from our website.

The fundamental principle behind Lupita is simple: your data stays on your device. We believe system monitoring should be private, and we've designed Lupita from the ground up to never transmit your performance data, usage patterns, or personal information to any server.

Data We Don't Collect

  • •No analytics: We don't track how you use the app, which features you access, or how often you open it.
  • •No performance data: CPU usage, memory stats, GPU metrics, and network activity are never sent to us.
  • •No device information: We don't collect your Mac model, macOS version, or hardware specifications.
  • •No crash reports: The app doesn't send crash logs or diagnostic data.
  • •No personal information: We never see your name, email (except for license delivery), or any identifying data.

Local Data Storage

Lupita stores the following data locally on your Mac only using macOS UserDefaults:

  • •App preferences: Your selected appearance mode (light/dark), chart style, refresh interval, and other UI settings.
  • •License information: For Pro edition users, your license key is stored locally to activate Pro features.
  • •Trial period data: The date you first launched the app to calculate remaining trial days.

This data is stored in standard macOS locations and can be deleted by removing the app or using the command: defaults delete com.sassy-dog.lupita-pro

Mac App Store Edition

The Mac App Store edition uses Apple's StoreKit framework to validate your purchase. This validation happens entirely on your device using the App Store receipt.

We never see your purchase information—Apple handles all payment processing and receipt validation. Lupita simply checks that a valid receipt exists locally.

Pro Edition (Direct Purchase)

When you purchase the Pro edition directly from our website:

  • •Payment processing: Handled by Paddle.com, our payment processor. We never see your credit card information.
  • •Email address: Used only to send your license key. We don't add you to mailing lists or send marketing emails.
  • •License validation: Currently validated locally using format checking. No server communication required.

We retain your email and purchase information only for support purposes and to resend lost license keys upon request.

Third-Party Services

Lupita uses the following third-party services:

  • •Paddle.com: Payment processing for Pro edition purchases. See their privacy policy.
  • •Apple App Store: For Mac App Store edition purchases and updates. See Apple's privacy policy.

Neither of these services have access to your system performance data or app usage patterns.

Future Changes

We may add optional features in the future that require internet connectivity, such as:

  • •Cloud sync for preferences across multiple Macs
  • •Server-side license validation (for enhanced security)
  • •Optional anonymous crash reporting to improve stability

All such features will be strictly opt-in. We will never enable data collection by default, and we'll update this privacy policy to clearly explain what data is collected and how it's used.

Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing for us to share, sell, or delete. However, for Pro edition purchases, you have the right to:
